Mainstream field trip took place at Eimer’s Lake in the Nature Park. Our grade 2/3’s learnt about wetlands and their importance as an ecosystem.
Students used augers and took soil samples and studied the different layers of soul.
They learnt about the shelter that wetlands provide and made their own.
Our students also learned how much fun can be had on sphagnum moss and the properties of cedar trees and Labrador Tea. It was a great field trip and we are very grateful with our connection with Mainstream.
