We Look Closer
Our School community respects individuality and holds creativity in high esteem; we deliver an innovative educational experience nurturing the wellbeing of our students.
KIS is a small, vibrant K-9 Independent school, tucked into the heart of the Rocky Mountain Trench. We pride ourselves in a loving and caring environment where children feel safe and heard. Parents are welcome and encouraged to contribute to the programs that we offer.
I hope you and your children are keeping safe and well during these challenging times. It’s hard to believe we have wrapped up the 2019/2020 school year. What a year it was! We have all been through a very difficult time both in terms of education and in our personal lives as a society in dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic. As we come to the end of this school year, we recognize and reflect upon the success, achievement and required flexibility and patience that our staff, parents & students have had to rely on collectively. As a collaborative team we value the importance of building strong relationships with home and school and we appreciate the support that we have received from our KIS families as we embarked on a new journey of distance learning! While we realize each student’s situation is different, we also kept in mind the need to ensure essential learning outcomes were covered so that students are prepared for the next year. We are hopeful that the worst of this pandemic is behind us and that we can resume life and education with more normalcy in the year ahead. We will continue to have an enhanced focus on hygiene and prevention, but we are optimistic that we will be able to offer a full range of programming in the fall, with plans in place to deliver a combination of in class and at home learning in an engaging manner if and when necessary. With all of this said I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff, parents, guardians, family members and students for your patience and perseverance during these past few months. I am sure that although it has been a trying journey at times, we have all learned a lot and it will serve us well in the future. On behalf of the staff of Kimberley Independent School have a safe and wonderful summer.

What Parents are Saying
Caring Teachers &
After homeschooling for a few years KIS has been the perfect fit for our family. The teachers are so caring. I love the individual attention the children receive. The school also cares about a well rounded education with extras such as art, music, drama, outdoor play, dance, swimming, gymnastics, skiing & more.
Small Classrooms &
The small class sizes at KIS allow us to get to know our students extremely well, and tailor our programs to cater to each child’s academic, social and emotional development. The school has a wonderful community atmosphere and it is a pleasure to come to work each day.
Kids & Parents Love
Kimberley Independent School
Every day I am so grateful for my children to have a school where they wake up excited for school and are not ready for me to pick them up after school. They are eager and are loving to learn. I, as a parent, am always welcomed at KIS.
